The Drum Social, hosted by Georgian’s Indigenous Resource Centre and in partnership with Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin, is a social celebration of traditional Indigenous language, culture, song and dance
Join us at the Barrie Campus gymnasium (J building) to celebrate this event. The drum social is a welcoming space for all to gather, learn, experience and connect as a community. Everyone is encouraged to take part – join in the dances, feel the beat of the drum, explore craft vendors, Indigenous community agencies and engage in shared learning and active participation.
Drum Social details
The event will be held at Barrie Campus gymnasium (J building) on Saturday, Oct 17, 2026. The event starts at 4:00 p.m. Doors open at 3:00 p.m.
Admission and parking are complimentary. Donation of non-perishable food items are appreciated.
Smudging will be available throughout the duration of the event for those who wish to participate.
We respectfully ask that only invited drum groups participate in the drumming portions of the gathering.
